Structural Monitoring Systems (SMN) installed its first CVM sensor kits on Delta aircraft at the AAR facility in Oklahoma, USA, last week.

It follows the successful fitting of CVM sensor kits in 21 Delta aircraft around 12 months ago.

SMS Chief Technical Officer Trevor Lynch-Staunton said the installation provided a “strong foundation” for further kits to be installed on Delta aircraft this year.

The installation took place in front of representatives from Delta Airlines, Boeing, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Anodyne Electrical Manufacturing (AEM).

“This is another major milestone for the commercialisation of our CVM technology and further validation of the significant time and cost savings it offers to commercial airline operators,” Mr Lynch-Staunton said.

Additionally, SMS subsidiary AEM recently attended the Helicopter Association International’s (HAI) Helicopter Expo 2023, displaying its special mission communication product lines.

The product line includes its digital audio system, avionics switch consoles, loudspeaker systems, illuminated panels and audio accessories.

It was held in Atlanta, Georgia, from March 6 to 9.

Shares in SMN were trading at 44 cents at 11:41 am.
