More sparkling success for Lucapa Diamond Co

Thursday April 16, 2015:  Lucapa Diamond Company (LOM) has recovered another top-shelf sparkler at its Lulo diamond project in Angola.

It said today that the latest gem came in at an astonishing 63.05 carats and, importantly, was a Type IIa diamond, the rarest category in the world.

The gem is the third-biggest found by Lucapa at Lulo, following the 131.4 and 95.45 carat diamonds recovered from the initial bulk sampling activity.

The stone announced today comes from Lucapa's commercial alluvial diamond operations at Lulo, which is generating strong cashflow for the company as it pushes ahead with the wider exploration program.

This program is aimed at finding the primary kimberlite source for the high-quality gems. Lucapa has identified numerous kimberlites, four of which have already been shown to be diamond-bearing.
