Just on the back of this thread I follow with an article that articulates China's policy on compelling automakers to have electric vehicles as 10% (and rising) of sales volume from next year.
This forces Toyota to trot out a cut price model through one of its China subsidiaries (which will not carry Toyota badgework) just in order to meet the new requirements.  I already knew that Toyota was delaying market entry with an EV. The interesting thing is why.....?
