but via the beauty of the internet i can access people that measure Arctic sea ice coverage, in this case the National Snow & Ice Data Center for its latest Arctic Sea ice news and analysis. It provides both written commentary and graphics, such as the one below.

in case you've misplaced your reading glasses, the graphic below shows Arctic Sea ice cover at June 22 (that is Monday) this year tracking about the same minimum area as the record 2012 low, both of which are well below the averages of other years. NSIDC measures the area by satellite.
