    It probably would have been only financial years 15 and 16 that the unpaid PAYG came up. Plus it isn't like a mere unpaid debt can be enough to initiate police raids!

    A good tax scheme needs to be a mix of hard for regulators to access information (operating in tax/secrecy havens often the preferred route), has legal arguments that can be made touching upon grey areas if one is caught and the perpetrators are discreet in carrying it out. This one was idiotic as it runs into errors as soon as contractors lodge 15 and 16 returns with inconsistent PAYG claims, has no legal arguments in defence and worse of all the perpetrators are spending all the loot buying assets in Australia! There was zero chance of it ever lasting long term. Utter arrogance by those behind.
