Ok let me spell it out for you...you can easily get a return on your money essentially risk free from the bank of 3%.

TLS is giving you a yield of just under 5%.

This is a 2% extra yield if you hold Telstra shares.

Now historically and fundamentally TLS is approx. 20% overvalued based on a p/e of 20. A large part of the reason TLS has run up is investors are chasing yield hard.

If you wait for TLS to correct back to its long term average p/e will give you a share price of around $5.60 and a yield of %6 or so.

So now do you get "when everyone realises no point risking 20%+ to get an extra 2% yield. "

If interest rates continue dropping then defensive yield players like TLS will get a rerate and 3% savings account will be the good old days
