GENERAL: TPI: TPI Grounds its entire fleet
Transpacific Industries Group Ltd ("Transpacific" ASX:TPI) advises that last
night the Company announced a voluntary grounding of its entire fleet
nationally following a fatal accident involving one of its vehicles in South
Australia on Monday 18 August 2014.
Transpacific CEO Robert Boucher said "We took the decision last night to
ground our entire fleet in order to conduct our own internal investigation
and satisfy ourselves, the Police and Comcare of the roadworthiness of our
fleet and the adequacy of our maintenance program.
"This is not a decision we have taken lightly, however we believe it is the
right thing to do given the serious nature of Monday's accident."
Subsequent to the decision to voluntarily ground the entire fleet, Comcare
have issued TPI with a Prohibition Notice which requires TPI to undertake the
actions outlined above.
TPI is working cooperatively with the Police and Comcare to satisfy this
request as soon as possible.
TPI will keep the market informed on its progress.
