GDXJ only rebalance on a quarterly basis. So if they decide to reduce their SLR position further, it wont be for another 3mths. The volume on Monday morning was an S3 portfolio crossing. Placi is correct in saying it was a type of internal transfer to sub account etc. The volume done for the GDXJ fund in friday afternoon's match was just transferred to a sub account ie the volume wasn't really done twice over.
