it seems that the pope had some gathering in the Philippines where about 6m gathered to listen to the head honcho of the catholic church.. all that it does show, is how easily people are fooled by religion.
watso cannot really be bothered doing to much reading about the history of religion in the phillipines but today, the phillipines is a largely catholic nation, which is obviously the result of several hundred years of Spanish rule - and probably just the way that spain got rid of the muslims in the iberian peninsula, then maybe they managed the same in the phillipines. if it was not for the Spanish influence , the people greeting the pope would most likely have been muslims - and the muslims no doubt replaced earlier religious beliefs .
sad isn't it - but the catholic christians, the protestant christians , the sunni muslims, the shia muslims, the jews (and all of the relevant iterations for all of them ) all pray to the one monotheistic god - who simply does not exist - because if he did exist, he would sort out this nonsense on earth
