Plans to crackdown on professional beggars operating on Perth streets

A CRACKDOWN on begging in Perth is being planned amid fears a syndicated cartel of professional beggars is operating on the city’s streets.

Perth Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said there was strong anecdotal evidence some “professional beggars” were potentially earning hundreds of dollars a day.

yep - watso walks straight past the beggars, and when accosted by people asking for money (ie more beggars - the asking price seems to be $2), watso just ignores them..

oh - and while watso is at it - but complaining pensioners have nothing to complain about. frankly, the pension is way to high . watso is not on a pension - but enjoys riding a bike (ie no vehicle costs - but also healthier so less medical costs), appreciates the free public transport for geriatrics, and enjoys rtc shopping (even if it means visiting several shopping centres on any given day.

oh - for the cheap breakfast, watso first rides about 5km to the train station, then catches two trains (free ride) out to ikea in osborne park - and on the return journey, watso checks out the beggars in the city, and subiaco - as well, as a bit of rtc hunting.

as an ex property owner (ie rental properties). watso would never again provide social welfare housing to renters.

lol - watso recalls one bludger who was not paying the rent for a self contained granny flat - of course, she had the benefits of all sorts of legislation to protect her rights - but lol, watso ripped out the fence, so that her dog could not be contained - and she was gone within a week
