Actually what I was saying is that there is a episodic event that varies between 4 and 7 years where the Arctic ocean currents reverse. No explanation as to why the winds (the mechanism) change direction. But it is just observed. It is observed that big dumps of cold fresh water is released into the Atlantic.
The concern is that there has been no dumping event now for close to twenty years and that is a concern as to what effect that will have on the AMOC.
