    The Victorian floods were nearly 10 years ago! No dam is big enough or cost effective to hold water for ten years. Currently most rivers in the Murray darling system have yielded less than 10 % of their average discharge for the year, the further north the dryer, yet the Murray is flowing quite strong as Victoria has had nearly average runoff supplemented by irrigation releases
