As much as the left will be all over this like a rash trying to gain political mileage, and though Tony Abbott may well be criticised for this Knighthood "gaff", it will never be enough to turn intelligent people in to voting for the ALP.
Until the ALP actually come up with responsible policy and look like an alternative Government the Coalition is quite safe.
As much as I too question the motive for his decision, it hasn't changed Coalition policy nor their determination to continue repairing our economy that the ALP destroyed.
And realistically, if anybody changed their vote on the back of some thing so trivial as this they were never a Coalition supporter anyway...., Governing is about policy and action and always will be, not personality...of which the ALP have none to offer anyway.
