Better still would be to abolish compulsory voting where so many just tick the nearest box.
With optional voting only those people who are genuinely engaged with the political process can make a difference.
On another point, I hope that before the next Federal election something is done to change the Senate system so that dopes with a tiny, tiny percentage of the vote cannot be elected on the basis of some cleverly manipulated preference deal.
