An independent,unbiased and well resourced ABC is the strongest institution we have to cut through the vested interest and the politics interests of commercial media outlets.It helps protect our democracy by telling us the truth.
Other media outlets can be unashamedly bias in any way they choose.
The ABC charter guarantees no bias.
These cuts to the ABC are not only a broken electoral promise they are an attempt to stifle independent thought.
If all other media outlets are cutting budgets that is choice being made by management.They have commercial interests to satisfy.
The public pay for the ABC and their choice at the last election was to maintain the ABC at its current funding level.
The majority of Australians want good,accurate,reliable and unbiased reporting....even if it cost a little extra.
Quality usually costs a little extra.
