Yes it will always be there for all Australians but the central focus is now in the cities. Why grow within an already saturated market? What is the purpose? The Rudd Governments proposal was a white elephant, imagine the costs to put the NBN it every household regardless of need. The fibre to the node has already massively blown out, just imagine if we were attempting to put it each household! Furthermore, wireless is the growth sector and with the advent of new satellite tech much of the land line connections will quickly become redundant.
