its pathetic when the various industry sectors rely on the AMU to support their viability in manufacturing in Australia in the future.(which I must say is not the first time the AMU has objected to DH labor govt policy). Our various industrial sectors r 'not' 'NOT' viable due to DH bowen and albanese's 'UN 'energy policy. Indonesia is taking full advantage of these two DH's as they should,its called competing in business which if competitive produces profits/taxes to pay for the public services etc... DH talks about value adding ,we can't even compete producing the simplistic forms of value adding alcoa ,plastics etc. DH wants to talk about high tech jobs then DH must compete with countries like japan,korea,china US etc.
For those with with half a brain wollongong perfect example ,u want a 'globally competitive steel sector' u require gas and coal and these DH's know it.And y they approved the bsl coal furnance ,Australia's last furnance unless u want to include whyalla's bs emerson green steel bs.
