Saw my tax agent today, gave her a copy of the email I posted here. She said she had just dealt with another company same issue. Said should be completly finalised within six months. Said we should receive a check worth nothing in the nearish term. It may be a cent in the dollar or a cent in 100 dollars. Said we could write it off now or wait for next financial year, next tax year suits us better. If writing off in last tax year (yes we are pretty slack in regards to our tax) when said final cheque turns up can be can be revised in next tax return. Because the expected cheque to shareholders will be so inconsequential revising to the tax office next year is a simple task for any tax agent . Hope this helps, goodbye good luck.
