There's a pole there but it has to come under the road ( single lane bitumen ) before it comes into my place . I can actually do the whole job myself if I want to from the pit although I'd probably rather pay someone else to do it as part of the whole job .
It will be interesting to see how much the supply component is although I it won't bother me to be connected even if I go off grid down the track . As Hanrahan says , mains power is a wonderful thing .
I just think it's worth going through the exercise so that I completely understand my options . If I were to do this 10 years into the future , I imagine it would be completely offgrid
