    I don't see the Eagles plight as a tragedy at all. It's happened before and it happens to all teams. Historically the Eagles always reasonably quickly dig themselves out of poor situations. If in doubt check their year to year results since 1987. Most AFL teams would be more than pleased to have that success.
    I believe that the biggest fault of the Eagles in the last 5 years has been their unswerving loyalty to the likes of Natanui, Shuey, Gaff and a few others who should have been sent packing far earlier than they were.
