Thanks @shovel40, @Fiji1 and morning crew.

    Half-time wrap:

The share market pared early losses as upbeat earnings, a rebound in the major miners and a surge in US stock futures helped offset soft pre-market leads from Wall Street.

The ASX 200 dipped 10 points or 0.12% towards a third straight loss. Gains in supermarkets, energy producers and utilities helped offset declines in banks, consumer stocks and REITs.

Winners from the busiest day yet of this corporate earnings season included Insignia Financial, Bega Cheese, Lovisa and Fortescue Metals. At the other end, Tabcorp, Super Retail Group, Medibank and Eagers Automotive felt the wrath of disappointed investors.

US futures soared after Nvidia smashed expectations for its Q4 earnings, reigniting confidence in the AI boom. The chip-maker's stock popped 7.33% in after-hours trade. Nasdaq futures rallied 1.35%. S&P 500 futures climbed 0.73%.

The major US indices finished mixed overnight. The Dow and S&P 500 both gained 0.13%, while the Nasdaq shed 0.32%.

Personal trading: Caught ATP near the low but let it go way too early. Pip from MTC. Took HSN a little too early for the second-day sell-off rebound, but still got something from it.
