It'll make no difference to the world carbon footprint with India and China now ramping up things seriously in the coal sector for power generation.

Suck the gas out of the coal and burn it or just burn it underground would be my prference like LNC or CXY planned to do at Kingaroy but government greenies killed it (and the share price) in one go based on an untruth of benzo in a test hole . Could have been a world first . As always China and Uzbeckistan or somewhere have picked up on it and we have missed out.

Still unsure if coal is fully to blame given that 75% of the world's active volcanoes are under the sea and the earth normally goes through heating and cooling phases based on it's wobble and orbit , etc.

But in the mean time Australian taxpayers will pay the price of revamping our power grid to suit no doubt. Or AGL should take over CFU (they are ripe for takeover at the moment in Europe) and bring their factory back to australia and the founding aussie scientists and have them install the Bluegen units in all new houses / buildings built here. Size of a dishwasher at $40k per unit on small production. That price would easily halve on big volume and orovide jobs as well .

Greater and cleaner power efficiency with free hot water 24 hrs. as a free by product. Power is generated 24 hours a day vs solar for about 5-6 hrs/day. Each unit can pump out far more than is needed back into the grid. For the money saved on infrastructure they could pay a feed in tarriff and energy would be very cheap and very clean. Give the power generation to the people.

Of course that would require a government with fortitude and foresight , but with AGL now focusing on coal seam gas , there may be imputus to review this method for the more remote regions that have have a higher maintenance upkeep due to transmission distances.

    Food for thought.
    Cheers
