Our economy is way too small for the bandaide to work.
Lowering the RBA rate will lower the AUD for a while but it won't do much to assist bank lending rates.
We need to look at global parameters and growth (or lack there of) before even thinking about what to do locally.
As we deflate the bubbles we are not going to see a soft landing of any sort. We could perhaps orchestrate a controlled "crash" landing that rips the wheels off but none the less allows everyone to walk away in one state or another. Other than for upping immigration there is no lever that I know of to effectively reinflate some of the bubbles.
Adjustment though a market takes YEARS just as invigorating emerging high end tech and biotech industries also takes years to reap dividends but that is what I think we need to do.
cheers
