I spent a bit of time on Groote early last year completing preliminary works on the manganese concentrate expansion.
What was evident was the complete waste of lots of money in regards to the management of the local indigenous people.
Its not a nice place. You can see how the locals have been given the bare minimum so it looks like something is getting spent up there but nothing substantial that its obviously made a difference or has made changes for the better.
They should make an example of the people caught stealing money to help the community up there so it makes other think twice.
Basically, its a dump.
