Obviously do what you must, but i suspect you would only be selling to the shorters. Interestingly AMP is one of the most sold stocks (commsec) on the Retail side, and i suspect one of the most bought on the institutional side.
Liu & Luciani tracked 6,000 U.S. stocks from 2006-2018 and found the positive/negative trend tends to extend 90 days beyond a good/bad news event. Essentially this market anomaly - which is verified in a number of previous studies - indicates market beating returns can be made by buying positive market moving news and holding for up to 90 days after the event.
I suspect this will be reflected in the charts in the of AMP in the coming months - subject to geopolitical conditions not going haywire.
