Welkin; new AMP CEO, David Murray, was reported to have opposed a wide ranging Royal Commission into Australia's financial institutions.

Reports tonight indicate that since his appointment as CEO at AMP that organisation has moved to reject findings from the RC, even demanding that only ASIC deals with issues raised:

"... AMP hit back today rejecting many of the assertions made at the commission, including any wrong-doing by Ms Brenner and form chief executive Craig Meller.
AMP also argued that ASIC, rather than the royal commission, should deal with the numerous allegations of breaches of the corporations act. ..."
