ATM facilities are used by around 40% of listed companies in the US and are now starting to slowly gain traction here. This concept gives the company full control on when and how much they sell on market without being at the mercy of Brokers.
I do know that previous placements done through local broking houses has seen the company at their mercy and one in particular was brutal in their dumping of shares on market.
They received options and a mandate and did nothing to support the company.
It would have been good if the shareholders were rewarded with a placement but that would mean going through a broking house which would mean fees, attaching oppies to them.
I am quite happy to forgo a placement if it meant the company has full control of their finances by using this ATM facility.
