If in a pre or post auction jockeying for getting a fill, you simply bid at the highest price among the bidders to get an opening/closing guaranteed fill or sell at the lowest ask to make sure you are filled as well. It isn't dependent on your bid or ask during this 2 10min auction.

I wonder if the bid was only set for the day (as opposed to buy until filled, with a longer time frame).
speculation on my part. maybe a 'today only' bid is pulled after 4pm

Question: is the bid still there now or expired on it's own? @colinchi
That might tell us something.
