Hi Digit,

I think there's a lot of pressure these days by consumers, the introduction of social media and the like has had huge implications on the way big business operates in society today.
The voice of the public is ever increasing, for example, there's an article I've read a couple of times, posted last by @FrankMe post# 17311149.
This type of result comes directly from consumer awareness and pressure.

Big business gets to where it is due to being proactive, this sort of self banning on products by big business not only makes the company look good, it can be a major selling point if advertised properly, and let's face it, if they buy the product in (which most places do), then it will be up to the manufacturer to fix the problem, so there's little to no cost to the business selling it, yet they gain a huge amount of kudos.

Reputation is everything in business!
