I would wager that there were people buying in on Thursday and Friday (Australian time) just before the AAN conference is slated to commence. The significant increase in volume observed would seem to confirm this.
At the very least, some people could be buying the story and spectulating that it is true. In 2014 when the market was awaiting the PTB2 results, the share price increased from A$0.16 to A$1.24, a 675% increase. The 675% return for ATH would be the lower end of what I would personally estimate to be the potential returns in the next year or so.
If ATH follows a similar upward trajectory as NEU (2008-2022, then this could be the start of the upward long term swing towards a AUD$1 share price.
