What is really interesting is the 'AMP will provide an update to the market on 1 July 2020' guidance. It seems like AMP is giving the shorters a week to get out. As the article says AMP will have $1.4b in capital above their top end capital holding estimates, or ~41c/share ($1.4b/3.4b shares, did i get that calculation right?).
Market sentiment appears to have turned negative because the U.S. is treating 6 (i think) Chinese companies (media) as entities of the Chinese government and subjecting them to sanctions and an out of context and yet to be clarified statement on the Chinese/U.S trade deal (which i think is good for sentiment but ultimately bad for Aust as the Chinese buyers buy up U.S. farm goods over ours). The sanctions look like they are designed to stop the Chinese companies spreading their 'news' freely. I think the reaction is overblown.
