Looking at his LinkedIn profile, he not only "spent" 10 years at Elders but he joined in July 2009 as a fairly junior employee (not responsible for the share price collapse) and experienced/survived a company in crisis mode.
Not only that, he rose through the ranks fairly quickly spending <2 years in each until his final role.
And he stayed there for almost 10 years.
I see 3 positive attributes there 1) experienced a tough environment 2) promotion 3) endurance/loyalty.
