It is a pain but this problem is not entirely the fault of the managers. There are a lot of extenuating circumstances that affect the outcome. One of the problems is that they pay a high dividend so they are on a constant capital decline due to inflation and other factors, so they rely possibly too much on the ability of the investment companies to go up in value to compensate and as one can see there are a lot of ASX businesses that go nowhere for many years.
If you look at it historically most ASX companies go broke , delist or get swallowed up by others. Ultimately it just shows that a lot of research is important and even then one can fail. So dont get depressed and dont invest what you cant afford to lose or have frozen for a while. Actually Wilsons are not too bad as they wish to thrive and survive and the managers have skin in the game. Lets hope they learn from their poor picks and do better over the next 10 years.
