I found one more gem in the archives about the discovery of the Carrington and Liontown ore bodies. Liontown is named after Jack Carrington's old draught horse called Lion. Jack was a teamster who carted timber and firewood for the mines in the area. Lion the draught horse kicked a rock outcrop and Jack saw gold, this became Liontown.
