My question, to anyone who has some knowledge in the area is, how much of a pain in the bum is it to a company ( like Ozl) to have to clean up the last few % in a Takeover?

Is there a chance that some companies would prefer to see a spike, just before the cut off date, to rid themselves of possibly a large group of that last X amount of %?
Would they even care?
Could something like that happen or would history suggest that the margin between the last few days marries up to a few pips below the TO price?
PS I understand all TO’s are different but I have learnt over time that someone can always pull a statistic out, on these boards
