the general effect of algorithmic trading is to remove wealth from the market by skimming profits from many companies every day - 'bots' do not make money for their masters by buying stocks only by selling them. That's why you see so many share prices stagnating. I'd be surprised if MC had anything remotely to do with algorithmic trading.
