Commsec give a chart-based commentary on each stock. Today for SXY it said "SXY shares appear to be in a long-term bearish trend confirmed by a falling 200-day moving average. However, there are rallies occurring at shorter timeframes. The 5-day moving average is above both the 20 and 50-day moving averages. This is bullish and means that investors see opportunity in this stock.". Just above that it said SXY was down 5.88%. When I next keyed in "SXY" Commsec said "Something has gone wrong, please try again later.". That must mean that I shouldn't worry about today's movement, but that I should hold on and not look for a while. Mustn't it?
