I'm a geologist - I've spent quite a bit of my career working in the nickel sulphide space since the early 1990's - primarily komatiitic Ni but also with mafic-ultramafic intrusive Ni-Cu.

I was curious as to the initial market reaction to the results, primarily due to the low grades within such a high MgO host where the basic partitioning of metals within a melt dictate that there should be appreciable Ni in the silicate phases. I also see a euphoric stacks-on with stories like this where people who obviously do not have a good grasp of geology get all caught up - I guess just try to inject a bit of geological context where I can. I continue to follow the story as I am genuinely interested as to how the story will play out from a professional and personal curiosity. I remain sceptical as to the level of recoverable Ni within the drilled system to date, the met work will inform us here and i'm very happy to be wrong and do hope i'm wrong.
