The smart thing to do would be to go to ANZ and find out exactly what their margin requirements and conditions are.
I've never used margin but my understanding is that the ratio needs to be maintained so there is always risk of a call if the price deteriorates substantially.
That may not be correct but if I was investing on margin I'd make damn sure I knew what was correct.
You don't want to get taken by surprise and have to make hasty decisions.
