Science is a method of believing nothing and viewing reality with absolute doubt and skepticism. If ideas about what's going on survive that peer reviewed process, they're adopted as working hypotheses until proven wrong.
This all goes on within a human social environment.
FDA is necessarily conservative. Thalidomide can ruin your whole day. Flux between big pharma and big gov also flavours things with vested power. Naive to think otherwise.
Think PWC and ATO and public interest in oz.
However history of science, and in particular medical science and treatments, shows that effective science will be acknowledged, truth will out, and fatten my super.
