Smaller dividend yield means there's more cash put in the business. Yes this hasn't been realised in the share price but I think it certainly helps the WDS merger and any other capital management ideas they announce at the half year results. A takeover of STO will only happen if it stays in Aus (SA gov owns shares) - the WDS merger seems the best way forward.
