I've been looking at TRS because there are a few brokers...

I've been looking at TRS because there are a few brokers recommending and a little bit of Director buying but I checked out a typical shop today and the things that I was left thinking about were:

1. How do they get new customers? I must have passed their shops 1000 times but never considered walking in before today. There were a few people there when I browsed the store but a few just seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to put some items in their coat when no one was looking.
2. I can certainly see how "shrinkage" is an issue. They had plenty of security cameras in the ceiling but the layout provides plenty of cover for anyone sufficiently determined.
3. What an eclectic bunch of merchandise. A couple of basic items I normally pick up from Chemist Warehouse or IGA were sufficiently cheap to warrant the occasional visit but Aldi must be eating into their customer base.

I left none the wiser. I could imagine TRS having the occasional great half but I could also imagine shoplifting being such an issue as to wipe off their entire profit. They must have to constantly monitor and refine their offerings just to keep the show on the road. Sums up their last 10 years I suppose.

Bottom line, probably still not cheap enough to tempt me for the time being.
