They Wrote the herd value down by $149million
(circa 430,000 head at average $770 per unit over 100kg = $331,100,000)
in the 330 to 400 kg range
average $ dec 22 $1936
…………..dec 23 $1154
If they used average industry figures, that would mean about a 30% change, this to me is wrong because the herd as they state is not sold into the local market , rather it is sold as a packaged product
If they are using these average figures it would seem incorrect when the price per Wagyu the quoted has only dropped by 10% , which is the main source of the revenue
Why was the herd write down not in line with the Wagyu drop of 10%?
