Your last paragraph is gold, or should I say “copper”. One of the occasional benefits of hotcopper is it attracts a vast range of commentators, many with nothing to say or add, but now and then a post that adds real value. My contacts in mining are all retired, so I’m relying on the reports and my own assessment of the economic sense of the project. So it’s good to hear from someone in the industry that “the word” among the mining community is this, while small (and therefore not a priority for the majors) does make economic sense. The emerging “Pilbara hub” concept can only add to its attraction.
