I actually think the best thing Gandel could do for ALK is step down from his role as chairman. Anyone who thinks his actions haven't had a huge negative impact on the SP are kidding themselves. If he wants to sell his shares then fine, but having a chairman who is a primary factor in the SP being in the gutter is taking the piss.
