"The Market" is dealing with the $2 BP overhang. Quite simple, even you said that yourself, and I totally agree. It will take time to wash through. At least it is being soaked up IMO.
However, I disagree with your view that the market does not care about a leaders past form or skin in the game.
If thats true then why do companies head hunt for talent like they do? Why is there a market for that? Why is a persons reputation/skillset directly related to their pay?
Sure BB picked himself, but he did it with his own money and asked others to back him and they did.
You know that SP isnt always correct at times due to many factors other than fundamentals. How many times are there positive announcements come out for just about every company at times and down goes the SP? Plenty, happens every day.
You and anyone experienced in the equity markets know it. Even in reverse, out comes a bad ann and SP rises...go figure, but that appears that mr market got it wrong IMO. Happens often.
