i was wondering if those annotations might effectively mean an E-W slice - I couldn't see how they would make sense otherwise unless typo on the ENE instead of ESE, in which case your mooted section stands good and we have a problem.

Stygofauna density - low familiarity for me but isn't that to do with underground fauna? Is that perhaps related in any way to some of the theory on formation of sedex deposits and brines - association of microfauna with brines, and, also I'm vaguely recalling a role for same in a reduced environment influencing the chemistry? They haven't mooted sedex model for the area but the geology has a lot of sedimentary deposition doesn't it?
