Like you, I have always thought this arrangement strange but worse is the priority credit rating given to Realtek and placing Nuheara in jeopardy. They have risked sacrificing the company in the hope of developing their own chip. Probably a result of grandiose planning while lacking resources. After all this time there has been no hint of any other arrangement with Realtek.
