“Subject to the performance specifications being met, in-person demonstrations will be conducted”.
The first part of that sentence fills me with dread. It sounds like they were still not sure.
Now that we are in the latter part of August and we haven’t heard anything does make me think that they did not meet their objectives. Their behaviour in the past when responding to this type of disappointment has been to say nothing until they have understood where the weakness is and have a plan to address it.
