we were shown around by the CEO – we lookedat the large towers (amazing things) (see pictures) and asked – what if the bigplan for AITMG goes bust? At that stage it was a run down mess after decades ofabandonment. We then learnt the value of the radar tower infrastructure was far in excess of the property value. They are massive structures.

Below (underground) the many towers,see links about “The AN/FLR-9,operated by the Air Intelligence Agency, is part of the DOD World Wide HighFrequency Direction Finding System” you will find 3 levels underground set up by the US airforce. The entrance is over by the old run-down stadium - we went down 3 levelsand saw below ground (pretty run down but amazing.) We also were told by a Filipino that there is a road (underground tunnel) all the way from Clark campus to Subic that the US Air Force set up in case of need for quick safe exit. There are, we were told, two other underground roads (tunnels)- one to the old Holiday Inn (former officers’ quarters) and one to the former base hospital. A lovely Filipino caretaker (Joe) showed us the entrance to the tunnel to Subic. A second entrance is hidden by something that looks like a large statue of an ice-cream cone.

In 2011we mused what was in the tunnels, - but assumed the US air force left a lot ofvaluable goods (valuable at that time) but rumors of other things undergroundwere also mused.

The ElephantCage at Clark was said to have huge value! It is not the land per se that hadvalue, it is what is underneath and the Elephant Cage.
